Our Experience with the DEWALT DCC020IB 20V MAX Cordless Air Inflator*

  • 2 min read

Some tools just make life easier. Recently, we had the chance to use the DEWALT DCC020IB 20V MAX Cordless Air Inflator*, and it’s been a handy addition to our collection, especially for farm work.

We weren’t looking for anything fancy, just something portable that could be used on a tractor. Since tractors don’t have a 12V socket like cars do, we needed a battery-powered solution. That’s where this inflator came in.

A Handy Tool for Remote Jobs

We’ve used this inflator in the woods, fields, and just about anywhere we needed to air up tires. It runs on a 20 volt DeWalt battery, which we have plenty of. This means there is no need for a power outlet or car socket. That’s a huge plus when working in remote areas.

Another thing we liked? It comes with multiple attachments, including a camping mattress blower and a ball needle inflator. Even better, all these accessories store right on the inflator itself. It's a small detail, but one that keeps things organized.

Performance – Is It Fast Enough?

Now, let’s talk about how well it actually works. This inflator isn’t the fastest one out there, but it’s definitely fast enough for most jobs.

  • It took about 6 minutes to inflate a front tractor tire from 0 PSI to 45.5 PSI.

  • For standard 30 to 35 PSI car tires, it’s even quicker.

That being said, if you need to inflate massive tires frequently, an air compressor will be much faster. But for the occasional top-up or emergency, this tool gets the job done.

Small Features That Make a Difference

One feature we found useful is the automatic shutoff. You just set the PSI and walk away, and it stops when it reaches the target. It also has a built-in light, which could be useful at night, though we haven’t needed it much.

Final Thoughts

We weren’t sure what to expect when we picked this up, but overall, it’s been a solid tool to have around. It’s not the fastest, but it’s portable, convenient, and easy to use. Perfect for anyone working off the grid or needing a reliable inflator for quick jobs.
